   We purchased a Murphy bed from Merax on Bedframes.shop, thinking it would be the perfect fit for our space. Unfortunately, this has been nothing short of a nightmare. From the moment it arrived, we’ve encountered countless issues. First, several pieces were damaged, with scrapes and a chunk of particleboard chipped off, leaving a 4-inch splinter on the side. Assembly was a grueling process that took us three days, which is shocking considering our extensive experience with assembling furniture. The screw holes didn’t align, forcing us to redrill, and the instructions were so poorly written that we had to redo multiple sections. The instructions claimed it required four people to assemble, but even with just two of us, it was incredibly difficult. The idea of squeezing four people into a small room with 300 scattered pieces is absurd. When we finally managed to assemble it and were ready to attach it to the wall, the screws provided were laughably inadequate—tiny 1.5-inch #16 screws that wouldn’t hold anything securely, even when placed into studs. We had to buy larger screws and brackets to feel even remotely confident in its stability. The provided brackets were small and brass, clashing with the silver screws and standing out like a sore thumb. I had to invest in 64 quarter-sized stickers just to cover all the visible holes. To top it all off, once fully assembled and attached to the wall, the bed wouldn’t even lay flat. We had to add additional weight to the legs just to get it to sit properly on the floor. We reached out to customer support to ask about releasing nitrogen from the pistons, as there was no release valve provided. They bombarded us with requests for information, including a tracking number that we were never given. Even after providing our Bedframes.shop invoice, they continue to ask for this nonexistent tracking number and have yet to respond with any useful information. It’s been over a week, and we’re still waiting. Bedframes.shop’s product support wasn’t any better—they suggested returning the bed. How are we supposed to disassemble this 300-piece disaster, box it up, and pay for shipping again? We just want to know how to fix the bed so it can lay flat. It’s unbelievable that we can’t get any proper support. After this experience, I would strongly advise against buying this product. It took us three days to assemble when it should have been a 4-6 hour job at most. In hindsight, I should have just bought a kit and cut the wood myself. May look nice after we painted it, but do yourself a favor and avoid this product at all costs. UPDATE: After 10 days and numerous back-and-forth emails (because there’s no phone number for customer support), the company finally responded to the one question we had: how to release pressure off the pistons. They refused to communicate with us until I provided not just the invoice, model number, and UIC code, but also the tracking number—a tracking number I didn’t even have when we received the product. I had to contact Bedframes.shop Support just to locate the tracking number, as the company wouldn’t respond without it. Did they think we were harassing customer service over a product we didn’t buy? Absolutely ridiculous. To make matters worse, their only response was that we should use an 8-inch mattress weighing at least 20 kg. Nowhere in the specifications did it mention a specific weight requirement; it only stated that the mattress could be between 8 to 10 inches thick. Regardless, our mattress weighed 29 kg. They offered to send us lighter pistons if we removed this negative review. Given how difficult it was to install the pistons initially, I declined. I think it’s important for others to be aware of the challenges we faced while assembling this kit. Bedframes.shop Support only offered us the option to return the entire kit at our expense. We’ve made it work, but we have to use 10 lbs of ankle weights on the legs to keep the bed stable when it’s down.
