   Results turned out as expected. I used 5” mattress and I’m not quite so sure with the 4.75” gapped bars for the support underneath, but we’ll see in the long run. I might have to get a support board for my cheap mattresses. I weigh 120 lb and it was able to handle my weight. My husband weighs 180 and he felt stable with the main bed, but the extra bed was a lil shaky when it was folded out. I did this on my own and I would recommend asking for a second hand once you have the right and left side of the daybed screwed in. I used a stepping stool just to prop it up and get it to the level the holes it needed to match it up to. If you follow instructions, there shouldn’t be any problems. There were a few screws left over. Downfall? I had to delay the assembly only to discover 4 of the holes were not threaded correctly. Annoyed that I couldn’t screw them in all the way down. Luckily we have YouTube and I was able to figure out that I needed to buy a tap (thread) or die tool, since there’s no use of repacking the item and returning it. I use the tool to strip some metal off in order for the screws to catch and tighten the posts. *phew, now I don’t have to return the bed. Update: I added 2” memory foam pad to each mattress. Just to get an idea how thick you can get away with for the bottom bed, it fits fine to be able to slide it under the daybed. It may need a little more nudge to slide under, but it’s not a deal breaker for me.

   I purchased one of these beds as a trial before buying a second for an occasional room for 4 kids to share. I liked the promise of the pop-up feature transforming a small area into a comfortable king-sized sleeping area without taking up space in a small bedroom all the time.

   When we opened the box, we decided immediately that we were not going to even bother assembling it and would return it. Even though the bed was quite heavy and seemed to be sturdily built, the plastic “runners” on the pull-out, pop-up trundle seemed VERY flimsy and likely to break quickly. They do not appear to be a standard item that can be purchased quickly and easily or at just any store when they do break, so the long-term functionality is unlikely.

   We decided that we would spend more money for other beds even though the cost of this model was attractive. We did not consider its long-term durability to promise us value for our money!

   this frame feels so flimsy and makes noise whenever I turn over in bed. the directions were not the most helpful since they were only pictures. it’s frustrating that not all of the slats screw into place-the ones that didn’t constantly make noise during the night. if it wasn’t so hard to get this boxed up and to a return site i’d be returning it for sure.

   update after a few weeks of use-this for sure would be returned if possible. putting the pull out bed up is hard with the weight of the mattress. the main bed creaks and the poles for support turn whenever i move in the bed. this is not worth the purchase and i would absolutely suggest buying a different frame from a different company.
