   I found it unbelievable how nice this bed and trundle is. The wood is quite distinguished looking and the trundle pops up easily. We utilized Linenspa 8″ thick mattresses with memory foam plus we added fluffy mattress toppers so the beds are amazingly comfortable. Easy to put together, parts and pieces well packed and organized. Instructions well illustrated and easy to follow.

   I really love(d) this bed and set up. Was kind of a pain to assemble, but well worth it once it was done. I really love the color, style, and percieved sturdiness and quality of this product. My only issue is that after six months of semi-regular use, the legs on one side of the trundle bed, as well as a plank, made an awful crunch and snap sound when someone (130 pound person) went to sit on it- rendering part of the bed broken and unusable. I’m now looking for an alternative piece of furniture that can work with the functioning part this bed.

   This product is garbage. The trundle broke after the 2nd time being used. Unfortunately I bought it as a guest bed so it was already outside of the normal return policy by the time it was used and broken. The manufacturer did send me a replacement but the same part started to break again WHILE I WAS ASSEMBLING IT. I then spent several hours on the phone with Bedframes.shop over the course of more than a month trying to get them to authorize a refund through their A-Z guarantee but every single time I speak with someone they tell me that the previous person did something incorrectly and they’d need to resubmit the request correctly and get back to me in 48 hours. I was finally able to get my case escalated to supervisor who resubmitted the claim once again and 48 hours later I got an automated message saying that my case was closed and I wasn’t getting a refund. I get it that the product was outside it’s normal return policy. But this is a piece of furniture. It should last for more than two uses. The product is trash and Bedframes.shop’s customer service was an utter failure.

    Two things first: these are for regular twin mattresses, the bottom fits a max 8″ thick mattress. The biggest disappointment that no other reviews (from other sites) mentioned was that there is still a 2-3″ gap between mattresses when turned into a king. You’ll need to buy a topper or a gap filler which IMHO is an annoying extra expense. Besides those two points, everything else is great. It feels sturdy, the pop up design is just what we needed for frequent in-law visits and I anticipate using it as two separate twins when the kids’ friends visit in the future. Pricy up front, but I’m thinking it’s a solid long term investment and is a welcome solution to the two level trundle bed options that are so common.

    This bed is pretty but it is flimsy construction and materials. This bed is completely unstable after one use, by an elderly petite family member who weighs 104 lbs. This bed has barely been used over the past year in my guest room. I can count three visits by my elderly aunt. I went to scoot the bed back against the wall after making the bed. The trundle part was across the room. As I was doing so it seemed really loose and just cracked where two screws secure the front side to the head of the bed. See photos. I spent 600 dollars on this flimsy set up and I had to make it with a payment plan after my home flooded. It was a hardship to buy and now I need to pay to have it removed from my home. More money down the drain. I called Bedframes.shop and all the company was willing to do was replace it. So I can have another one break and have to pay to replace it????? No thanks. AWFUL. I want my money back. I am going to look on resale sites and find an old one that was built properly and with real wood or metal. DO NOT throw your money in the toilet on any of the Kodiak furniture. They will not help you a year from now when it falls apart!

    Aside from a few scuffs (probably from shipping) this piece is higher quality than I had expected from Bedframes.shop. The main bed took a bit of time to put together since I did it solo and really need a second person to hold the other end of the bed while putting together, but the trundle was super easy to put together (about a half hour.) Can fit up to an 8” twin mattress underneath. My only complaint are the stickers to number the pieces. I’ll have to get some goo gone in order to get those off, as they aren’t coming off easy and leaving behind the residue/some of the sticker.

    Product shipped in two huge heavy boxes but assembly was a breeze (not two people required!). It looks beautiful in the space and we found the trundle fits really nicely underneath the daybed and doesn’t stick out. We got 8in mattresses, but will plan on an extra foam support to fill the gap and for comfort for when we use it for guests.

    The bed was very easy to assemble and initially we were very happy with the product, however our 8 year old nephew (70lbs) plopped down on the front edge of the bed rail, missing the mattress and the rail splintered at a finger joint in the frame. In our opinion the front and back main support rails should have been constructed from a single solid piece of wood, not a piece with 2 finger joints present within a 6′ span. The finger joints create weak points for supporting and downward force.

    Additionally, we bought this over a month ago and it is still off gassing a chemical odor. We live in FL, so thankfully we have been able to crack two windows in the room and run a fan to air out. However we are concerned that even with these efforts there is still a noticable chemical odor in the room.

    It took a long long time to assemble this. Not an issue with the instructions but rather the quality of the work on the product. Thin, hard to find holes. Definitely looks good. But after 4 months slat broke(see photo). Very low quality and does not feel stable. Almost scary to use.

    Follow the directions precisely and this daybed goes together perfectly. Factory screw holes and bolts are meticulously prepared and each part is numbered. Do not tighten down each bolt as it’s placed until a whole section is assembled and then tighten the screws and bolts. Attaching the back rail to the side rails needs patience and 2 people and again do not tighten bolts until the parts are together. 8”mattress is the maximum size for trundle. Bedding in this picture includes two 8” foam mattresses, waterproof sheets, cotton mattress pad, stretch microfiber blue sheet for coverup. I like the wood to show so a typical daybed cover doesn’t look so nice. Very sturdy, comfortable bed.

    Works great as a couch, but is ready for napping and a bed for visitors. Took time to assemble, but it was not difficult. An 8 inch mattress is the thickest that will fit in the trundle and still roll beneath the daybed. I used two 8in mattresses and each has a mattress cover to avoid spill damage. Very comfortable and looks good. I would definitely recommend this set. It is also convenient to hang blankets from the rungs.

    This is an AMAZING bed! Solid wood, not some particle board that will fall apart. Easy to put together with just me, a 130lb. 54 yr old woman, as long as you have something to balance the ends while you’re working! I was initially concerned when it came in two boxes that were about 1’x1’x7’ and 75lbs each, yet every item comes labeled with easy to follow instructions and, as you can see from the pic, you don’t even need to figure out the hardware! It’s all clearly numbered and even grouped according to what is needed in each step. Only 2 kinds of connectors so you’re not fumbling around with 7 different types of screws 🙂 The only issue I had was a screw up on my part (yes, pun intended) where I grabbed a screw gun to join the 5 boards along the back. I thought I had the screws lined up with the guide holes until I was almost finished and realized they were all wonky, so I would suggest to initially use a regular hand held Phillips so you can “feel” when they’re lined up in the starter holes because it’s CRITICAL for them to be straight and evenly spaced in order to fit into the slots along the vertical posts on both sides. Just something to watch out for so you can learn from my mistake! I haven’t used it yet, but just looking at the construction you should know that it needs to be treated gingerly. The fact that it’s a trundle means it has legs that are intended to rotate, and when the bed is raised up they are not resting perpendicular to the floor….they are at an angle so sitting on a corner will put too much weight on one leg which then splits. You’re purchasing this type of bed for ease of concealment so it can’t be treated like a regular bed. However if you’re setting it up like a king bed, one way to minimize the potential for the legs to buckle is to rotate the mattresses so both heads are on the daybed and the lighter portion of your body’s, the legs, is laying on the trundle. To the one reviewer complaining about the distance between the mattresses, this is how a daybed with two twins is turned into a king. There’s no way to design a bed frame without the width of the “frame” so there’s no way those mattresses are going to line up…… a king is 76”x80” and a twin is 38”x75” which means two twins is the exact same width as a king (just a little shorter), but in this configuration there is less wear on the trundle legs and easier for two people to snuggle 🙂 LOL

    I really like the look of the bed & trundle. It’s very sturdy and not to difficult to assemble. Two people are helpful when putting together the main bed but my husband did the trundle on his own. I do wish the trundle could be pushed back under the bed a little further so it isn’t a “toe catcher” when I’m making up the bed etc. I know it’s designed to line up with the bed, but it would be nice to have the option to push it back some.

All pieces arrived carefully packed and protected. **One piece had a split, but the seller (Cymax) has outstanding customer service and returned my message in under an hour!
